Description:

Spruce-tree coronae are very similarly shaped to those of pine-trees, which is mainly due to the fact that spruce-tree and pine-tree pollen are of a very similar shape. According to literature, coronae are especially large when the particles which generate them are small, and vice-versa. So spruce-tree coronae should have similar radii. In the medium-altitude mountain ranges in eastern Germany there are very large spruce-tree forests while there are very few pine-trees. So it is supposed that the coronae which are observed there originate from spruce-tree pollen.
